Yahoo Messenger Tutorial, installation and creating new id

In this tutorial we will teach you how to download and install yahoo messenger, how to create a new account for yahoo messenger and how to add new people to the list to be able to discuss with them.

First of all you need to go at : http://messenger.yahoo.com/

We mention that we used Mozilla firefox browser. Click on download now. It will open a window where you need to click on save. Select the location where you saved the file, we chose to download the file to desktop.

Downloading takes a few seconds, after download go on the desktop right click and then open. You can double-click on the file will have the same effect. This will open a window asking if you are sure you want to run this file, click Run, left button. After execution, click NEXT.

The next window asks if you agree to the terms and conditions of the program yahoo messenger. Tick the YES box and click on NEXT. If firefox browser remains open, you will be notified to close it. Click ok and it will close automatically.

In the next window click Install. You still need internet connection to download Yahoo Messenger. After downloading the program will automatically start the installation program. After installation you will be notified that the program was successfully installed. Leave the check box on Launch Yahoo Messenger checked and click Finish to start the install.

Now we need a messenger ID so you can connect. If you already have a yahoo email address you can connect using the email id and password. If you don’t already have a yahoo email address, click on Get new Yahoo ID in the bottom of the program.

Will open an online form to be completed for obtaining an ID Messenger. In Name box write your Name. On Last Name write your Last Name . On gender , select male for male or female for female . Enter your birthday, carefully insert the actual birthday . At Country select the country you’re from.

Enter your postcode to postcode of where you reside , you can put any code but is not recommended . The next step is to choose your ID. You must be at least 4 characters and a maximum of 32, you can use letters and numbers , you can even use lower dash or dot. It must be unique, to check availability click ID check.

After choosing ID you will need to enter password twice. Do not use simple passwords try to use complex passwords of numbers and letters , preferably randomly for the account safety. If you forget the password you need an additional email where will be sent a link where you can recover your password.

Alternative email address is optional , because you can also get your password by answering two security questions. Select type your own question here and try to ask questions hard whose answers only you know. In your answer box, answer to your chosen question . After completing the two questions, fill antispam code as it appears in the image. Click on Create my account.

On the next page you will have a summary of the data from the form. You have the option to print the data. It is recommended that you write down in a notebook to remember them. You can also copy that text to a file on your computer. Click on continue. Turn to Yahoo Messenger and enter the id and password. Click Sign In. Congratulations, you have just connected to the program.

It will open some extra windows that can be closed without problems. First, click on Do not show this message again, so the window don’t pop – up again. If you connect for the first time, you have the opportunity to import your friends to Messenger list. Click the Add Friend now to import friends. You can import friends from Microsoft Outlook, AOL, Hotmail, Gmail and other networks. Select the desired option and click continue and follow the steps below. You can close the window if you don’t have to import friends from those contacts.

You may notice that you have the option to join facebook messenger program. You can then chat with friends online on facebook directly from Yahoo Messenger. Click on to Facebook Link and enter the login. This step is optional, if you don’t have facebook account is not a problem. Below we present how to add a new friend in the list.

Click on the contacts. Select Add a Contact or use Ctrl + Shift + A In the next window you will insert friend’s id  or email address. Click on next. Select the group you want to add him. Default is Friends. You can change the group name in whatever name you want. Let’s say coworkers. Below you can add an optional message that the one you want to add will see.

It is recommended to fill it if someone doesn’t know your id, to let him know who you are. You have a notification message, you’re announced that id was added and was sent an application for approval to the one that you added to the list. Click on finish.

You can see that id appears in the list of message that the application has not been approved. To discuss with the person added, double click the icon and it will open a new window. In this window, you can talk to the person added.
